Carma believes customers should be able to do a lot with their CarmaLink hardware. That's why we're creating a brand new API. The goal is to make something that's flexible, highly configurable and easily implemented by partners. We love tearing apart other telematics products and finding out how they could be made better. All of this research is going into the development of our new architecture.

Our new API is being created using RESTful design principles. Information is transmitted through the HTTP protocol, which is the cornerstone of communication on the internet. That means it's easily understood, widely adopted and secure.
This kind of API allows developers to rapidly create applications that consume vehicle information.
Your data will be secure. The largest internet shopping sites in the world use TLS/SSL and US Government sanctioned AES encryption to secure HTTP traffic that contains sensitive information. We use the exact same methods to protect your vehicle's data and keep everything secure across all networks.
